Was great catching up with friends for the latest ‘Vintage Cake Stand Sale’ – It was great to catch up for a festive drink and also quite a few people bought gifts for Xmas.
Today we had high tea at The Langham (formerly The Observatory Hotel). The event was to raise money for the MJF Foundation or the Merrill J. Fernando (DILMAH founder)Foundation which was set up to benefit the underprivileged as well as nature conservation. Over the years they’ve helped tens of thousands of children better their lives. High Tea was amazing and the talks were very interesting. Thanks Lorraine for tickets. Lorraine is from Not Quite Nigellawww.notquitenigella.com
I have this thing about American confectionary, especially Reece’s Peanut Butter cups, ever since my American friend introduced me to them back in College! I think this selection adds to the beauty of this quirky cup and plate stand!
It’s fact – real men sure do drink tea! It’s a growing market in the tea industry – men are drinking tea and not just your grandfathers. Real men DO drink tea and apparently they live longer and healthier lives!
A couple of my good friends visited the Victoria Room Tea Salon, Westfield Sydney, and this was taken of good friend Gary…and their High Tea was served on one of our Cake Stands.
It was a great day, although very windy at Bondi Markets 13 May. I was scared the cake stands would get swept up and crash with such strong winds.
There was alot great feedback, sales and great market energy throughout the day.
Nice to see that the guys can get into’High Tea’ – Here Kaitlin’s friends passed around some treats! On Sunday we held an 18th birthday for daughter Kaitlin – with such a lovely sunny day, a High Tea dessert Feast was served after lunch. Lots of old fashion favourites like ‘liquorice all-sorts, musk sticks, passionfruit meringue, my favourite’s ‘bananas’ and nougat etc etc. Party blowers and poppers, and colour from plate stands and sweets, made for a happy table setting…
Today a bunch of my friends came for HighTea – for no particular reason!- Cake stands looked fab with a selection of scones, Rosemary shortbreads, tuna, egg & chicken sandwiches, cheeses and quiches. The orange tea cups, cake plates and saucers are ‘Aynsley – England’ and are divine.
